Anthurium Schlectendalii | Bird's Nest Anthurium /Phesants Tail
Anthurium schlechtendalii is an evergreen perennial which is also known by the common name Pheasants Tail. It originates from Mexico and ranges from Mexico to Costa Rica, it has a clumping habit and can grow without the need for soil substrate and is thus termed epiphytic.
It produces lance-shaped, green leaves which can reach up to 1m in length, however as with all anthuriums, they love high humidity to thrive.
Flowers are enclosed in green spathes tinged lightly with purple and yellow-brown spadix structures, these are approximately 70cm in length and lead onto red, berry-like fruits.
Light Conditions: Shaded/Indirect Light, which is humid and not exposed to frost. Be careful not to overwater.
Each plant measures approx 20cm in height from soil level and 20cm in diameter.
